Comets Booster Club News

November 2007

WOW! Is the best we could come up with! What a whirlwind these last couple months have been. The Senior team has already competed TWICE and this weekend is our 3rd competition. It seems we get a message every other day from Coach Sheri stating we have 2 more team members! We would like to welcome all of the new team members and their families to the Comets Family. Since the start of the season I think we have added at least 10 new members!

BOOSTER CLUB COMMITMENT:

What has the Booster Club done for you so far you ask? Since the start of the season we have purchased the Senior team's music and will also be purchasing the Junior team's music. We have also purchased shoes for the Senior team and provided a credit to the junior team members for their shoes. We have also paid for the December 2nd competition fee. As we stated at the beginning of the season, we plan on doing several things for the team and their families; including providing snacks to the team at each competition as well as competition gifts, and hope to provide even more as the season goes on. Please remember your Booster Club commitment is due by December 1st; we will be sending out statements next week to let you know where your account stands.

FAMILY CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION:

Because the family picnic was so much fun and a great way for everyone to get to know each other, we thought it would be fun to have a family Christmas celebration. This is scheduled for Sunday, December 9th and will be a potluck (for those of you who missed the BC meeting). We will be sending out reminders as well as a sign up sheet for things to bring.

We have just about wrapped up our main fundraising and we are just getting the last of the numbers together, but every single fundraiser seems to have been successful; all thanks to you, our team parents, and of course our cheerleaders!

T-SHIRT SPONSORS

We have extended this a little bit for our new members but it should be all wrapped up by the end of the month. This was very successful for many team members, many achieving over $500 in sponsors. Thank you to Kari Sulaver and Cathy Smith for handling all of this. Great Job!

COOKIE DOUGH

Due to the amount of cookie dough sold each team member was able to earn $5.05 per cookie dough tub/popcorn sold. The Booster Club did help out by pushing the team orders over to the next level by ordering 30 additional tubs, but we have since offered those extras to team members to sell and only have 7 tubs left. Thanks to Katie and Christina for all your hard work.

GREENS SALE This fundraiser is done in conjunction with the gym and the team members who took advantage of this fundraiser did very well! Thanks to Katie and Anne for all your work on this.

FAY'S BBQ

Thank goodness the weather held out! The team sold over 500 tickets! During the pickup of Fay's, we utilized the opportunity to also collect donations for TAILS Humane Society, which was also very successful( Great idea Coach Amanda W.) Thank you Brenda for all your hard work and thanks to Seniors Bert and Smash for delivering meals!

ELDER BEERMAN

The Elder Beerman Community Days was also very successful. The team sold over 250 books earning us a spot to sell in the store the day of the sale. Thank you to all the parents who helped sell booklets and to the team members who sold in the store on Friday and Saturday! Great Job! We will be participating with Elder Beerman again in the springtime.

HOME PARTY BAZAAR

The Home Party Bazaar, Silent Auction, and 50/50 raffle went well.

We did come in under budget in all aspects of the fundraiser but it was still a great success. Thank you to all the team members, coaches, and parents who came out to support the team! Thank you to all who have helped!
